Keeping the community that supports us safe.
Empty Bowls New Bern is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation on a local, state, and national level. Our staff and volunteers will take all necessary precautions as recommended by CDC guidelines. At this time our plan is continue the event as it has been done pre-COVID, with bowl selection and soups at the main event on February 23rd, 2023. In addition, we will be offering bowl selection at the Potters' Throwdown, January 13th, 2023, for those who feel more comfortable attending that event. Those who select their bowl at the January 13th event will be able to use their ticket stub as a coupon for $5 off an item at participating restaurants.
In the event that local, state, or national guidelines and regulations make the February 23rf event untenable in its current format, Empty Bowls will transition to the format used in 2021: allowing for bowl selection with gloves and masks on site, and use of the ticket for a $5 coupon to participating restaurants.
In the event we are unable to complete the Empty Bowls New Bern at all in a safe and secure manner all ticket sales will be converted into a donation to the Empty Bowls event. Those wishing documentation of the donation may contact Craven Arts Council Gallery if this becomes the case.
We would like to thank all supporters of this wonderful event, and hope that you and your families remain safe and well during these times.
